The Heart of Polaris

I’ve always loved working with my hands. Long before starting Polaris, I found myself drawn to making things, spending time in machine and auto shops in high school, tinkering, building, and figuring out how things fit together. When I stumbled across fine woodworking and furniture building videos years later, I knew I’d be hooked. I knew I had to try it for myself. What started as curiosity quickly turned into a deep love for the craft and, eventually, a way to share that work with others.

I build every piece myself, and the part I enjoy most is solving problems. There’s something deeply satisfying about starting a project without a clear answer and figuring out how to make a tricky joint work, how to balance strength and elegance, or how to bring an idea to life when the path forward isn’t obvious. I don’t work from rigid production schedules or fixed templates. Each project is an opportunity to think, adapt, and build something truly considered.

I’m not chasing a specific style or trend. While my work is influenced by mid-century design and minimalist principles, the goal is always to craft a piece that truly fits the client and their space, their needs, and how they want to live with it. Proportion, material, and care guide every decision. I enjoy some repetition when it serves a purpose, but what drives me is variety and intention. Each piece is built to feel personal, not interchangeable.
