Polaris Custom Woodworking, LLC BoxSmith App Privacy Policy

BoxSmith is a drawer box design app for Android, made by Polaris Custom Woodworking, LLC ("we", "us"). This policy explains what happens to your information when you use the BoxSmith Android app.

The short version

BoxSmith doesn't collect, store or share any personal information. There are no accounts, no ads, no analytics and no tracking. Your jobs stay on your phone unless you choose to share them.

What the app stores, and where

  • Your job: the drawers you design, their sizes and labels, and your unit choice. It's saved in BoxSmith's private storage on your phone, so it's there next time you open the app.

  • Your theme choice: System, Light or Dark.

This information never leaves your phone through BoxSmith. We can't see it, and it isn't sent to us or anyone else. Uninstalling BoxSmith, or clearing its storage in Android's settings, deletes it.

Files you share or open

  • Sharing: when you share a job file, cut list (CSV) or PDF, BoxSmith hands that file to the app you pick in Android's share sheet, such as email, Google Drive or a messaging app. What happens to it then is up to you and that app's own privacy policy.

  • Opening files: when you import a job file or open one from another app, BoxSmith reads only that file, to load the job.

What we don't do

  • No accounts or sign-in.

  • No collection of names, email addresses, contacts, location, photos or device identifiers.

  • No ads and no advertising identifiers.

  • No analytics, usage tracking or crash reporting built into the app.

  • No selling or sharing of data with anyone.

Google Play

You download BoxSmith through Google Play. Google may collect information about your device and how apps perform on it, under Google's own privacy policy, not this one. We only see the summary statistics Google shows developers, such as install counts and crash rates, which don't identify you.

Children

BoxSmith is a woodworking tool meant for adults and isn't directed at children. Because the app collects no personal information, it collects none from children either.

Changes to this policy

If a future version of BoxSmith changes what it does with information (for example by adding optional sync), we'll update this policy and the effective date before that version is released.
